This article contains Outlander season 7 spoilers!
Outlander has always blended history with mystery, but the season 7 finale may have delivered its most emotional twist yet, one that no one could have predicted.
Longtime fans will remember that, back in season 2, Claire gave birth to a stillborn baby girl she named Faith. Devastated and battling a deadly fever afterward, Claire’s life was saved by Master Raymond — a mysterious figure with healing powers. Master Reymond makes hid s reappearance in season 7 asking Claire for “forgiveness“. Claire – and the fans too believed this was a dream so until now, it seemed like that chapter of Claire’s life was tragically closed.

But the final moments of season 7’s last episode, A Hundred Thousand Angels, hint otherwise. While spending time with Jane and Fanny, two young girls who have suffered their own heartbreaks, Claire hears Fanny singing a familiar tune: “I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside,” the same lullaby Claire once sang to her daughter Faith. When Fanny mentions learning it from her late mother, Claire is visibly shaken. Could it be that Faith somehow survived? Could Fanny and Jane be connected to Claire in ways no one ever expected? There seems to be no other explanation for this happening.
This revelation isn’t something the books fully explore. Diana Gabaldon’s novels do hint at strange forces — like Master Raymond’s unexplained powers, but they never give a clear answer about Faith’s fate. The show, however, seems to be setting up something much bigger. Whether it’s the result of a lie, a hidden rescue, or something more supernatural, the possibility that Faith lived opens up powerful new storylines for Season 8.
Outlander has always asked its audience to believe in love, destiny, and miracles. Now, as the series heads toward its final chapter, Claire may have one more miracle waiting for her and one more piece of her heart finally returned.

My take on this:
I’ve always felt that there was something mysterious — almost magical — about Master Raymond and his bond with Claire. Even when Claire’s heartbreaking chapter with Faith seemed closed, there was a part of me that believed their connection wasn’t truly over.
In the final episode of season 7, when Master Raymond appeared and quietly asked Claire for forgiveness, it stirred something in me. It felt like a signal that Faith’s story was not as finished as we once believed. Then came the moment when Fanny mentioned that her mother’s name was Faith — and suddenly, everything fell into place in such a bittersweet, beautiful way. Hearing Fanny sing the lullaby that Claire had once sung to her lost daughter was the final, heartbreaking confirmation.
I have no idea where the story will go from here, or how this revelation will affect Claire, Jamie, and even Fanny. But what truly breaks my heart is the tragedy of Jane. She sacrificed everything to protect Fanny, and now, knowing she may have been Jamie and Claire’s granddaughter all along, her fate feels even more devastating.
At the same time, it raises haunting questions: if Faith did survive, why did Master Raymond need forgiveness? Did he knowingly take Faith for some greater purpose? Was her life filled with hardship rather than the miracle Claire once dreamed of for her?
How would you rate this season 7 plot-twist?
